Whalesbay Hotel Apartamentos

After full days out exploring, having a steam room, hot tub, and sauna to come back to was a real treat. The staff were also a huge help with local excursions and booked them for us, so we didn’t have to figure everything out ourselves. At Whalesbay, the apartment was spotless and very well equipped, with separate bedrooms and a full kitchen that made things much more comfortable than a standard hotel room. We loved waking up to the island and ocean views from our balcony. It was an incredible stay, and we’re already planning to return.

The staff make a stay at Whales Bay feel like being part of the Whales Bay familia, whether you're there for a short visit or a longer holiday. The apartments are spacious, modern, and well equipped, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rolling hills on both sides of the hotel. I can’t wait to return. Obrigada!

I spent a week at whales bay hotel on a golf trip with 20 people. The location is spectacular, tucked away from highways and busy areas, with only the sound of the ocean hitting the rocks. The hotel pool and other amenities are great for a relaxing break, including a steam room and hot tub. A natural pool with showers, changing rooms, and a restaurant just up the street is about a ten-minute walk away. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there were options to suit different family or group setups. The kitchens and bathrooms had everything we needed. Service was excellent too. A group of 20 guys celebrating could have been a lot to handle, but the staff gave us a space where we could enjoy ourselves while keeping other guests comfortable. They also managed it calmly, pleasantly, and professionally when our music got too loud for the hour. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone staying on Sao Miguel for a memorable trip. Five stars all around.

The views along the hiking paths are outstanding, and you can set off in either direction right from the front door. We visited in December, which isn't really the best season for the island, but the staff were friendly and helpful. We'd highly recommend staying here and plan to come back.
