The Sun Hill

The rooms were spotless and the pool was warm, so there was nothing to complain about. Every morning, Renato made delicious Italian specialties for breakfast. We fell for the place right away and had a wonderful time. Renato and Rosanna made us feel at home, with so much heart and passion in everything they do. Thanks again for such a warm welcome 🥰. Renato went all out when our car battery died on the trip. He tried everything to get it working again, then even drove us to the rental company in Lagos. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the accommodation was fantastic. The pool was lovely and heated, too. We had an amazing stay thanks to Renato and Rosanna’s hospitality. Renato made breakfast every morning with fresh, local ingredients. We only wish we’d stayed longer, but we’ll definitely come back!

The location is really convenient for exploring the region. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the homemade breakfast was healthy and generous. Renato and Rosanna were warm, helpful hosts. You can also pick a wine from Renato's wine cellar for a fair price if you fancy a glass.

The hosts’ dedication made this feel like a family place, and they did so much to make our trip relaxing and enjoyable. Renato and Rossana personally prepared an outstanding breakfast, with a different mix of treats each day. There were yoghurt, sweet and savoury dishes, all delicious and made with fresh, local or even homegrown ingredients. We haven’t come across that kind of care on our other trips. The garden, full of plants and flowers, is lovingly tended by the owners, and the beautiful pool was a great way to cool off in the Portuguese summer heat. Our spacious room was in great condition, and the cleanliness was superb, with real attention to detail. Sun Hill is a quiet, idyllic retreat, though Lagos center is only around 10min away by car. We stayed for 3 nights, and it was the best choice we could have made. Renato and Rosanna were lovely, passionate hosts, and even in a short stay we felt at home from the first moment.
