Quiet, with good food and all the amenities. It’s child-friendly, with a playground and pool. I can warmly recommend staying here.

A caring host and a very clean place, perfect for a holiday in nature.

Our stay here was disappointing. After a day in Serra da Estrela, playing in the snow and getting soaked, we arrived to find no hot water. That meant we couldn’t do something as basic as take a shower, even though there were four children in our group. In an area with such intense cold, this was simply unbelievable. The advertised Wi-Fi wasn’t available either, which felt like a lack of transparency with guests. The electricity also kept cutting out. It came back right away each time, but this started as soon as we arrived and continued all night, with the appliances restarting every time. The location was another downside. It’s isolated, far from everything, and the poor access roads made getting around difficult and impractical. In short, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this accommodation.

The balcony is the highlight, with a wide view across the nearby mountains and valleys, plus birdsong and the smell of flowering scrub. Inside, the place feels welcoming and contemporary, with a well-equipped kitchen, roomy bathrooms, and good quality sheets and towels. The mountain road up is narrow and very steep, though the slow drive gives you time to take in the scenery. Don’t attempt the unpaved section without a 4x4. I stayed a while ago and left with lovely memories.
