Moleiro da Costa Má

The food was a highlight, especially the homemade dinner, which was the best I've ever tasted. Breakfast was lovely too, with their own products and yogurt that tasted heavenly. My room was neat, the staff were warm and helpful, and the cozy place felt wonderful. Waking up to birds and running water was so relaxing. I hope to return and enjoy more of it.

The nearby forest, rivers, and walking trails were lovely, but the place didn't offer the quality or conditions I'd expect from a resort. The rooms, lounges, and kitchen felt old and poorly cared for, from worn furniture and kitchen items to the tablecloths, and there was little help available during the day. Breakfast was poor, and the meals didn't feel worth 17.50 per person. There's no mobile signal, and the Wi-Fi is unreliable, though that may not be a bad thing here. The place charges resort prices without seeming to provide resort standards.

It’s a lovely place to unwind with family and a dog. The staff make you feel like family, and the service and setting were better than at a five-star hotel. Special thanks to Lurdes and Joana.

The river was soothing by day and at night, and the hammocks beside it or under the trees were great for reading and unwinding. I also loved the natural-water pool, with comfortable seats and shade nearby, and the unexpected aromatic bath. Afternoon tea came with cookies or cake. Dinner at moleiro da costa má was delicious every day, with generous servings of soup, a main, bread, wine, and dessert for 10€. Most produce came from the farm, and the potatoes were especially good. Breakfast had limited choice, but there was enough, including fresh bread and homemade blueberry jam. D. Natalia and her husband were genuinely kind and always willing to help. The old house where I stayed was cozy, though the apartments looked newer and more comfortable. I loved my time at Moleiro da Costa Má and found it hard to beat for value. I really recommend it and would come back. A few things could be improved. The rooms were clean, but needed a deeper clean around the corners and windows, and we found dust on some furniture. A toilet seat was damaged, and one sofa leg was broken. The beds were comfortable, though the mattress had fuzzballs and the sheets had a few small marks. The natural pool walls could use a better cleaning.
