The pool area was a gem, quiet and uncrowded, with beautiful views wherever you looked. We also had a tasty breakfast in a lovely room full of windows, with friendly service. The owner showed us around the historic, artistic property, which is truly one of a kind. What a delightful place, a real treasure. I’ll return!

Such a lovely little hotel, a peaceful escape from the nearby coastal high-rise flats. The staff were amazingly friendly, always cheerful and ready to help, and the breakfast was especially good. We could relax quietly by the pool. The village is a five-minute walk away, with two good restaurants and a good cafe and bakery for a morning coffee and patisserie. We’d highly recommend the hotel for a few days of rest and relaxation.
Capela das Artes feels like a secret tucked away in Alcantarilha, and it’s a far more special experience than a typical hotel. Freud, their mule named after Sigmund Freud, was my favorite part of waking up there. He’s charismatic and seems genuinely excited to meet guests. Bring an apple and you’ll be his best friend. His enthusiasm is such a real joy, it made my day. Julie is the kind of host you wish you had in your own family. She keeps everything running smoothly while making you feel like you’re visiting friends, and you can tell she cares about each guest. The property is gorgeous, the pools are perfect for lazy afternoons, and the whole place invites you to slow down and relax. Everyone on staff was genuinely friendly, with none of that rehearsed hospitality. My one suggestion is to add more plant-based breakfast options. Everything was lovely, but the Algarve has such great local produce, like fresh fruit, nuts, olives, and amazing breads, that could bring more variety for vegan guests while keeping the Portuguese feel.
A small hotel set on a huge plot, in a good location overall. Aldi is across the street, and there’s a fridge in the room. The breakfast was great, the staff very friendly, and there are good restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of loungers and shade by the pool too.
A lovely place among olive trees, with a peaceful, pleasant pool. The beautiful beaches are just a few minutes away by car.
