MUTE Hostel Porto Covo

We dropped into Mute for a beer with coworkers, then stayed for the ocean views, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. I managed to spill a completely full beer, and the staff quickly helped me and brought a replacement on the house. Big thanks to Ocean, who turned my little beer tsunami into a fun moment. I’d gladly come back.

The hostel didn’t feel very social when we visited in winter. People weren’t hanging out in the common areas, and the atmosphere felt a bit sterile, like it was trying too hard. We stayed one night on the Fisherman’s Trail. Our room was simple, very clean, and had everything we needed. The bathroom worked fine, though it wasn’t especially clean. There also wasn’t much of a kitchen, so don’t expect to cook here.

The view was amazing, and we had a really nice, healthy brunch before our hike. Everything tasted good, especially the salad with its delicious extra sauce. Thanks!

The ocean views were lovely and the staff were friendly, and it was easy to get to the beach. But our room was cramped, the mattress was really uncomfortable, and ants were all over the room and bathroom. Don’t book if you can’t deal with ants everywhere.
