Porto Covo Praia Hotel & SPA

Sitting on the sea-facing balcony on a sunny November afternoon was bliss. The room and public areas had lovely quality details, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Such a calm little oasis.

The breakfast was amazing, and the pool was nice. The furniture is Ikea. But the bathroom had almost no light, so putting on makeup in the dark was a struggle. It also had no door, meaning you could hear and smell your partner using it. Ridiculous design. I woke up four times because someone upstairs taking a shower made an insane noise, like standing next to a high-pressure washing machine. Water noise at night made this a poor, unrelaxing hotel. Bring earplugs. The WiFi was awful too. I ordered a burger that was dry, rubbery, and tasted awful. 17 eu for nothing. I’m so disappointed.

The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was clean. It had everything I needed for a bit of rest :) Breakfast was a real surprise, genuinely good.

The location is the real draw: Praia e Hotel Porto Covo sits right by a secluded beach, and the modern minimalist design has potential. But there’s a construction site next door, so expect noise and disruption. The rooms feel bare, the decor comes across as "IKEA cheap," and the bed linens don’t fit properly. Breakfast was bland and below what I’d expect. For the price, it feels like too little, and the stay didn’t feel polished or comfortable. 3/5.
