Our host was fantastic and very friendly, and the apartment was cute and nice overall. We thought the price was very fair. One thing to keep in mind: it’s right by the railway tracks. The windows are very good, but light sleepers may still hear trains at certain times of day. The top apartment is up several flights of stairs and there’s no elevator. We happened to arrive on a weekend and found a street spot near the hostel nearby. We didn’t need to move the car, and parking there worked fine for us.

We shared the three-bedroom apartment as a family for six nights and really enjoyed it. The beds were comfortable, and the place was excellent and very spacious. Both double bedrooms open onto the balcony at the back, while the twin room is at the front. The dining room and lounge are light and roomy at the front too, with a small balcony. There are lots of TV channels to choose from. The kitchen has its own dining table and a door to the back balcony. Hot water runs on natural gas and worked very well. I’d recommend it for four to six people.

We found it easy to reach the train station, the bus to Palacio da Pena, and some excellent restaurants on foot. The apartment was clean and spacious, with a fantastic terrace. Antonio, the owner, was very friendly, and I could happily stay there for a month. Fantastic value for the quality and price.

It’s near the tourist areas and good cafes and restaurants. The 434 bus stop is nearby, and that’s all you need for visiting Sintra. Just get the hop-on, hop-off ticket for 6.90.
