We were lucky to find a room here for two nights while travelling around the Algarve. It’s a lovely, peaceful guesthouse, with a tasty breakfast and a great coffee machine. The caretakers are really sweet, and the room was serviced every day. You’re close to the river, bus stop, shops and plenty of restaurants and patios. Check the parking instructions first, since the parking is above the inn. There’s also a free public lot by the bus station, then it’s a short walk over. We loved staying here.

Calçada Guesthouse felt warm and welcoming, and everything was very clean. Sangita was so kind and made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful stay, and would absolutely recommend it. We’ll be back!

We had a really pleasant stay close to the centre. There’s good parking nearby, and our room was comfortable, with a good bed and a nice bathroom and shower. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, with fruit, and the coffee was great too. The staff were excellent and so friendly. Thanks from Lucia and Marco.

Coffee on the roof terrace in the morning, or a glass of wine there in the evening, with that view over the beautiful old city, was a real highlight. We also loved the delicious breakfast and the calm, relaxed atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and clearly chosen with care, and the place feels homey but still special. It seems to draw travellers who care about design, comfort, quiet and sustainability. Everything other people have praised here matched our experience.

Everyone was kind and helpful, and the hotel itself was gorgeous. Staying at Calçada Guesthouse with Rossana was the most incredible part of our trip to Portugal. We can’t wait to return!
