Casa Paz do Barrocal

Mark and Lizzie were super friendly and shared stories about themselves and the fruit growing in the garden. We had a relaxing couple of days at this lovely place. It’s peaceful but also close to the city and its many activities, and it had everything we needed for a getaway. We strongly recommend it and will come back.

We couldn’t fault our stay and would go back in a heartbeat. Casa Paz is just outside Tavira in a beautiful setting, with lovely hosts. The room is very well equipped, and breakfast each morning was amazing, made with local ingredients.

The best part of each day was the lovely breakfast Liz and Mark served on our terrace by the mountains. They made our stay wonderful, and we often had the pool area to ourselves. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the setting was outstanding. We chose Casa Paz hoping for a peaceful start to our Portugal vacation, and it turned out to be that amazing. You need a car to come and go as you please because the place is literally out in nature, surrounded by mountains. We couldn’t have asked for anything else and would love to return when we visit Portugal again.

The hosts made us feel welcome from the start, and their care for the details showed everywhere. The hotel has been refurbished to a lovely standard, with spotless rooms and every facility we could think of. We loved the pool, sunbed area, hot tub and sauna, and the views over the hillside with our morning coffee were stunning. Tavira is a short drive away, with shops, bars and restaurants, and there are beautiful beaches nearby.
