Cola Gio Charm House

We were lucky enough to get an upgrade for the first five nights, so we’ve now tried three different rooms. The best one had its own lovely pool and felt spacious and airy. Even the worst one was perfect, with beautifully chosen furnishings, unique touches, and access to two shared pools. This was our second visit, and it was just as lovely as before. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and can’t do enough for you. For this level of service and attention to detail, the hotel is excellent value. It’s also perfectly placed for exploring Tavira and the surrounding area on foot or by bus. Breakfast is delicious, with different jams and sweet treats each day, plus eggs and pancakes made to order. They also cater well for dietary needs. Thanks so much for a magical stay. We’d love to come back one day!

The all-day breakfast was such a good idea. We could sleep in without feeling rushed, and both breakfast and the light daytime menu were delicious. We wanted to try restaurants around Tavira in the evenings, though other guests had great things to say about dinner here. We spent four nights at Colegio Charm House and had a lovely time. The renovation kept the history and character of the original building, and the design throughout felt creative and tasteful. The designer deserves credit. Staff were attentive, caring, friendly, and down-to-earth. They made us feel looked after without any of the pretentiousness you sometimes get at a boutique stay. Our room was quiet, spotless, and well kept. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bedding felt unbelievably luxurious. I’d highly recommend staying here in Tavira. Already dreaming of coming back!

We stayed in a larger room, with a queen bed downstairs, two twin beds in a loft, and a private balcony and pool. There was plenty of space and everything we needed. We didn’t have the missing-outlet problems other reviewers mentioned. There was one beside the sink, though it took a bit of looking because it’s painted over and has a cover. The hotel is right by the river in Tavira, an easy walk to the old town, restaurants, and ferry stop. The staff make the place special, they’re so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was included and had bread, pastries, eggs, cheese, and meats, with anything you could want served at a leisurely pace. Some reviewers called it slow, but we liked taking our time. We’re on vacation! We were so sad to leave and would return to Tavira a thousand times over.

The rooms at Colegio are beautiful and unique, and everything is clean. Breakfast is out of this world. Sonia, Maria, and Cristina greeted us with big smiles and looked after us exceptionally well all week. What a beautiful place, and lovely people running it, more like Charlie's Angels, well, Jose's and Cristinas. My family and I really needed that unforgettable week.
