The animal visits were a real treat. We got to feed the llamas, horses, donkeys, alpacas, sheep, and goats at 9am and 5pm, and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was good, and the nearby beach is an easy walk. We had a delicious meal at A Ilha, the restaurant there. Porto Covo was less than a 15-minute drive away, with easy parking when we visited in late September. The coves were beautiful and quiet, and this was our favourite coastal stop of the trip. We loved the studio, too. It was spacious, we slept wonderfully for both nights, and the shower was large. The outdoor shower was handy for rinsing off sand before coming inside. We spent a lot of time on the patio watching the sunset and giving attention to the cats that came over, whom we named Monte and Bemposta. Wish we’d had one more evening!

Breakfast was a highlight, with homemade bread, yogurt, and fruit, and lots of little places to sit and enjoy it. The garden and grounds were lovely and peaceful. We appreciated the quiet, personal feel of this charming little farm, which has only six rooms. We stayed six nights in June. Our room was decorated beautifully in a Mediterranean style, though the wooden ceiling creaked quite a bit at night.

The property is intimate and stunning, and the welcome was lovely. They were communicative and adjusted my itinerary to fit what I asked for. I especially recommend the cooking class. It explains the history of each dish and why the ingredients are used, and I found it very informative. One of the best places I stayed during my visit to Portugal.

The food is incredible, all home-grown and lovingly prepared, and breakfast was a particular highlight. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and everything is super clean. It’s a lovely, personal place. I’ve been twice for a yoga retreat and hope to return as soon as I can.

Marianna and her family put together a wonderful private dinner for our group of 20 at taste Algarve. They shared the story and history of their family farm, and even served wine from their cousins’ winery, which made the evening feel extra special. The food was 10/10, with a phenomenal view. We were impressed from start to finish, including the communication and coordination before we arrived. Marianna and her family are absolutely amazing. We’ll definitely book again next time we’re near their farm.
