Monte dos Avós Village - Pets Friendly

We weren’t expecting much from our two-night stay before moving on to a luxury villa, but we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived after midnight and had to call a central number, then reception staff explained how to collect the keys. The apartment was spacious, with two large bedrooms, a big kitchen-diner, and a large bathroom. The Wi-Fi was connected at over 100 Mbps, despite what others had said. It felt no-frills in some ways: there weren’t many plug sockets, there was no air conditioning, and there was no oven or cleaning supplies. They do provide large fans, but it would be nice to have washing-up liquid and a sponge. Outside, there’s a lovely area with a good-sized pool the kids enjoyed, pool tables, table football, and other games. It’s conveniently between Fuseta and beautiful Tavira, and makes for a quaint little stay.

We left the property early and made a complaint. The furniture was very old, the appliances felt unsafe, and the pool and property were dirty. There was no one around to speak to. I don’t recommend it at all.

A decent place in the middle of nowhere, so you’ll need a car or some other way to get around. There’s no WLAN in the rooms, and with no air conditioning the windows have to stay open, so expect to hear the neighbours. Cars drive past the apartments on their way to the parking area, so keep that in mind when letting your kids go outside.

Absolutely horrible. The smell made it hard to imagine sleeping there: the apartment reeked of fish, and the bathroom had a pool of dirty brown water in the shower with what looked like a piece of excrement in it. The woman who welcomed us smelled strongly of body odour. The door to our room also looked as if it had been forced open, which made us feel unsafe. It was so grotty that we had to find somewhere else to stay. There’s absolutely nothing nearby. Being in the middle of nowhere could be fine in a nice apartment block, but I wouldn’t want to spend any time there beyond sleeping, if the foul smell even made that possible.
