Being so close to the centre made it easy to reach shops, bars, and restaurants, and the railway station is about a 10-minute walk away. The facilities are good, though the stairs up to the small roof patio are awkward, so I wouldn’t choose this for a family with young children. Parking nearby can also be difficult.

We’d stay here again when we come back to Tavira. It’s a great location, just a five-minute walk to the beach ferry and under eight minutes to the good restaurants. The place is much roomier than the photos suggest and very well stocked. We were meant to meet someone on arrival, but they weren’t there. The door takes a bit of strength and a knack to open, but we managed in the end.

We’ll absolutely make this our home in Tavira on future visits, so just don’t book it when we do! The price was right, and the owner or manager was easy to deal with, helpful, and accommodating. The house is charming, spotless, well appointed, and perfectly walkable, close to everything but just off the busy paths. The showers were great, and we loved the patio with its spiral stairs up to a second rooftop patio. There’s paid parking right outside from 9am-7pm, free before and after. You can also find free parking a three- to four-minute walk away, near or around Sao Francisco church.
