A very pretty little space, and a worthwhile addition to a visit. There’s a small museum exhibition about the history of Tomar’s Jewish community, with a film and displays in Portuguese and English and a handful of artefacts. The woman at reception was really friendly. Santiago pilgrims can also get the site’s own stamp.

An interesting place that tells the story of Tomar’s ancient community.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a concert here after its recent renovation. It’s tucked down a side street in Tomar, but well worth seeking out.

A lovely walk through the medieval streets leads here, and the attraction itself only takes about 10-20 minutes to see. It’s a beautifully preserved piece of Jewish history in Portugal from before the expulsion, and well worth a stop if you’re in Tomar.

Small, but insightful, with archaeological finds from the 15th century.
