Herdade dos Templários

We had a lovely visit today. Andreia was friendly and knew so much as she showed us around and led the tasting. We tried four excellent wines and took a few home with us. What a little gem.

The tasting was lovely, and we especially liked the Reserva rose and Reserva red. We bought some other red wines at the shop and can’t wait to try them. Andreia gave us a great tour and explained the winemaking and Portugese wines with real passion, all in clear English. I’d mentioned in the reservation that my father can’t eat gluten, and she checked what could be done and arranged two bread alternatives for him. Thanks so much, Andreia.

We had a really good time and felt welcome throughout. Andreia’s tour was interesting and full of information about the vineyard and some Portuguese history. The wines were excellent, and lunch was great too. Thanks for looking after us so well. I’d definitely recommend a visit.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the tasting. There was a problem with the third-party platform we used to book, but Andreia patiently got it sorted out. The property is lovely, and it was great to see the vineyard and learn how the wine is made. We tasted in the factory, which was cool. Andreia was kind and knew a lot about the wine and area. The wines were tasty too, especially the rose and moscatel, which is drier than the Setubal variety. Definitely a swell stop if you’re in the area!
