The gardens and pool are peaceful and beautiful, a lovely place to unwind. We spent seven days as a family of five in the two-bedroom building, with a kitchen, dining area, and balcony looking across the hills toward the mountains. The bedrooms were just right for a comfortable stay and good night's sleep. Caroline is a fantastic host who gives you plenty of space, while happily sharing local advice or helping however she can. We hired bikes and equipment from her for the week and rode along the Ecopista, visiting the river beach in one direction and the parrot cafe in the other. Caroline and Helen kindly drove us to Viseu for a very reasonable fee, so we could cycle the 30km back to the house. Mostly downhill, and beautiful, it was the highlight of our week. There's plenty more to see around the area, including hills, mountains, rivers, and towns. We'd happily return, and would love to rent both villas with friends next time. Many thanks, Caroline.

We had a brilliant time and can highly recommend the place. Caroline is a superb host, and the property is fantastic. We rented the first-floor room and, to our surprise, had the whole property to ourselves. It was exactly what we needed to relax. One thing that's easy to miss is that it sits right on the Ecopista, a cycle path along an old railway line. We rented bikes from Caroline and rode all the way to Viseu. A wonderful find.

We spent five days at Caroline's house, as the first guests after the renovations. The new swimming pool is wonderful, with blue water, flowers, and birdsong. It's an ideal spot to recharge and explore Portugal beyond the usual places. Highly recommended.

The owner was so kind and helpful, and made our stay memorable. We loved the pool, and the house works really well for families. It’s a beautiful place where traditional charm meets modern comfort, close to both Tondela and Viseu.

We had a great stay and would definitely return. The newly installed pool was just right, and the accommodation felt modern while keeping local character. Our welcome was warm, and the hostess was friendly while giving us space to feel at ease. Lugar do Pego sits in a peaceful green setting, about a five-minute drive from Tondela. The Serra da Estrela views are lovely, and the Ecopista, with 60 km of car-free walking, is only a two-minute walk away.
