Hotel Santiago Vagos

The staff were wonderfully friendly, and the rooms were clean and up to date. Breakfast was simple but good, especially for the off-season. One thing I’d change is the TV mount: a swivel version would let you watch from bed.

We booked two nights and cancelled the reservation that same day, but it never got cancelled on their end. The booking could be cancelled up to a certain date, and when we noticed on that date that it was still active, they said cancellation after midnight wasn't allowed. We ended up paying for both nights we had cancelled. Be careful how you book. We asked them to look into it, but they still charged us for the two nights. We had also paid $12 for what we thought was cancellation coverage, but it was useless insurance: you had to provide very specific documentation proving why the trip was cancelled. A lousy experience with this hotel.

We had a very nice double room with a balcony, and the hotel itself is pleasant and well located. Breakfast offered a good continental selection. The staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. My only criticism is that the shower cubicle is small. I’d stay here again.

The rooms and reception area were spotless, and breakfast was fresh and delicious every day. Free parking and a handy location made the stay easy. Most of all, the staff were kind and went out of their way to make my family feel welcome. Hotel Santiago was better than I expected, and I’d highly recommend it.
