There was nothing in the kitchen when we arrived, not even salt or oil, and the tap water was terrible. With the house so isolated and the road to the nearest grocery shop so bad, you really need to buy supplies beforehand. A bottle of water waiting for us would have helped. The place itself is attractive, but the sewer smell was strong. There were dozens of scented oils, so it felt like choosing between that smell and being overwhelmed by fragrance. We had a stressful stay. When we got lost and called for help, the person on the phone was unfriendly and implied we were irresponsible for not following instructions. We had received an address, but no instructions or map. We had asked for an earlier check-in and were told it was only possible after 16h. We arrived at 16:30 and found hair in the bathroom and food in the kitchen sink. The woman checking us in said it hadn't been cleaned because we arrived early, even though they had refused an early check-in. They wouldn't let us check out later, saying checkout was at 10:30, although the Airbnb page said 11h. Then at 09:15 two women and a boy were already in the house to maintain the pool, so we couldn't use it anymore. That felt very uncomfortable and disrespectful. Ana Lobo Antunes was also arrogant and unfriendly when I asked about the deposit. I only suggested that if we had to pay it in cash at check-in, someone could inspect the place at checkout and return the cash then. It wasn't a criticism, but they took great offence. They also lied in their Airbnb review, saying I demanded a second set of keys. I said it would be nice to have two sets for two couples. They claimed my dog went in the pool, which is another lie. He doesn't like water and never went in. This is a nice house, but the service was terrible, and the people were unfriendly and completely inflexible. I can't recommend it. If you want a relaxing stay, there are plenty of beautiful places in Alentejo.
