Breakfast was fresh and full of flavor, served in a setting that suited the building. The staff were attentive and very friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and elegant. It’s a beautifully restored old manor house, with historic character and modern comfort together. My stay was brief but memorable, and I’d love to come back for longer.

The location is brilliant for exploring the city, and the toy store has stopped playing loud music all day. The pool was spotless and well looked after, even at the end of summer, and the view is great. The receptionists were wonderful, patient, helpful, and knowledgeable, including with my toddler and in-laws. The building’s old features have been kept in the renovation, while the modern areas are clean and stylish, though they felt a little lacking in soul. Breakfast was OK, with lots of cold food and bread, plus scrambled or fried eggs and omelettes to order. I wish there were less disposable plastic. Two things really bothered us. One breakfast staff member had a facial wound and kept picking at it and licking their fingers while clearing tables and handling food. Also, when I asked about using the sauna and steam room, the receptionist explained how they worked but didn’t mention that one session meant one hour. The facilities hadn’t reached the right temperature before the session ended and everything switched off. We would have gladly booked two, three, or four sessions if we’d known. As it was, one session wasn’t enough to enjoy the sauna. It seems fairer to tell guests it takes an hour to heat up and start charging after that.

We needed help booking a room at their sister hotel in Caminha for the next day, and the front desk made sure it was all sorted perfectly. They were friendly and helpful. Great location too, I’d stay here again.

Breakfast was outstanding, and the rooftop pool has a fantastic view at night. The rooms were very nice and clean. It’s under a five minute walk to the town square and most sights. I’d definitely stay again.
