I wouldn’t recommend this place. It costs a lot for what you get, and there’s barely room to pitch a tent. With no minimum spacing, the pitches end up packed together. The showers only have lukewarm water and such low pressure that washing your hair is difficult. Bathrooms are cleaned just once a day, so after everyone returns from the beach they’re in rough shape. They also keep your photo ID until you leave, which I’ve never encountered elsewhere in Portugal and don’t think is necessary. There’s no refund if they’ve calculated something incorrectly or if you want to leave a day early. The pool has no lifeguard, even though kids are playing and jumping in it all day, which doesn’t feel safe.

A fun, family-friendly campsite close to the surf spot. The dunes and pine trees make it enjoyable even when the wind is strong. There’s a cool atmosphere, and it seems like nearly everyone is there to surf.

This motorhome camping area is right by the beach, in an incredible spot for regular high-wind sailing. It seemed everyone had come for windsurfing, wingfoiling, or kiting. For windsurfing, I used a 5.0M sail in the mornings and a 4.5M in the afternoons. Outstanding!

The beach is amazing, and the location is beautiful, but we were hugely disappointed with the campsite. At €46 a night, it’s by far the most expensive place we’ve stayed on our long road trip, yet it’s run down and poorly attended. With the season nearly over, they seem to be operating with minimal staff. The toilets and showers are old and dirty, and the restaurant and shop, which looked so inviting on the website, are closed. We felt misled when booking because the facilities simply weren’t available. We might as well have parked on the road by the site.

The bungalow is comfortable. The bed doesn’t come covered, so I’d suggest getting sheets from reception for a few euros. Pilgrims get a special rate, but can’t reserve at that price. You have to arrive in person to get the pilgrim rate for the first night.
