Herdade do Sobroso Country House

It wasn't worth the money. The rooms were below average and didn't live up to the Luxury Boutique hotel name. We were put in a mezzanine room with hardly any light and the bed tucked upstairs. That setup was especially unsuitable with my wife eight months pregnant, something that should have been obvious. She had to go downstairs every time she needed the bathroom.

The rooms were amazing, and the people, food, and whole place made our stay special. It was cozy, peaceful, and simply lovely. The staff were wonderful and made us feel very special. We especially enjoyed the red and rosé wines. Thanks to the whole team!

We arrived early for our Easter vineyard visit and Julio welcomed us warmly. He was fantastic, clearly passionate about his work, and made us feel at home. At short notice, he arranged a delightful terrace lunch with perfectly chosen wine pairings, followed by an excellent tasting. We relaxed by the pool, then had a fantastic traditional dinner featuring local regional food. The next morning we were up early for an incredible safari, where we saw deer, goats, and various birds. After breakfast, we visited the vineyard shop. The whole experience was fantastic, and the vineyard makes top-quality wine. Highly recommend. Thanks again!

The location, wine, and food were very good, but breakfast was only average and the coffee was terrible. Our room was okay but poorly equipped, and the service was very poor. There was no information, and we had to seek out staff to get drinks and food. Nobody offered details about wine tours or other activities, beyond an email. We paid almost 800€ for one night, including food and drink for two adults and a four-year-old. At that very high price, it was nowhere near as good as other places we've visited in the area or in Portugal's other wine regions. Very disappointing, and we wouldn't return.
