Mira Sagres Hotel

The rooms have a decent amount of space, and the location is nice. Still, the place didn’t come across as especially clean. The bathroom had a strange smell, not the usual bathroom smell, and a few things had marks on them, whether old or new. Service felt a bit cold, though it was functional. Fine for a short stay, but no more than that.

The view was good and the staff were friendly, but the hotel had a damp, almost cheesy smell that I can’t describe any better. The air conditioning wasn’t good anywhere, and the unit in our room was really dirty. The room cleaning could have been better too. The pool didn’t work properly and looked like it needed renovation. The water was too warm and salty, and the pool room was far too hot for relaxing. You also have to buy a swimming cap for €4 to use it, which didn’t feel worth it when the hotel already seemed too expensive for its quality. I’ve stayed in places that were much better for a lot less money :(

The pool was a welcome extra since the weather wasn’t great for the beach, and there’s a spa too, although we didn’t try it. Our room was comfortable and had the essentials, including a hair dryer. Breakfast was okay, but there wasn’t much variety. It’s a three-star hotel that fits its rating. The receptionist could have shown a bit more empathy and warmth when welcoming guests, including us.

The breakfast was especially good and gave us a great start before walking to Sagres. We found the service great, and the room was just right, with a balcony and views. It’s an ideal place to stop along the Fisherman's Trail.
