Bellamar Hostel

The hostess was friendly, and the kitchen and living room were nice. Someone had stolen all the light bulbs except the one in the bathroom. Also, when the toilet is flushed, you can't get water from the sink tap until the tank fills again. Still, for the price, it's a good place to spend the night and sleep.

It's a relaxed, chilled-out place, and the kitchen and dining room are well equipped. The beaches north and south are an easy walk away. The local Pingo Doce supermarket sells great chicken and rice to take away, which is hard to beat.

I didn't stay overnight, but while walking the Camino I needed to print an important document. The hostel staff helped straight away and didn't charge me anything. They were very friendly and accommodating. Thanks again! :)

The view from the balcony is phenomenal, looking over a lovely little park, the river, and the Atlantic Ocean. The old vila has been turned into a hostel, with a perfect location and good staff. There are shared kitchen and living areas, and the rooms are spacious, with a bathtub in the bathroom. There are some flaws if you compare it to a hotel, but it's a hostel, and a terrific one.
