Villa - Cantinho do Paraíso

The photos brought us here, but the place is even more beautiful in person. It's such a dream property, and the hosts are incredibly kind and full of the BEST recommendations. They make everything easy for guests. We came to Santa Maria because of this place and were completely blown away. So romantic! I'd give it 25 stars if I could.

The kitchen has all the essential gear and supplies for making meals, and there are lovely paths across the property, so you hardly need to leave. Every room is thoughtfully decorated and comfortable, and the views are spectacular. The whole house was designed by Nestor, and walking in, you immediately feel peaceful and at ease. Susana was a delight from start to finish. She replied quickly to our questions and shared ideas for hikes, activities, and restaurants across Santa Maria. Both she and Nestor are so kind, courteous, and friendly. When the airline changed our flights and I couldn't get things sorted, I vented to Susana. She called the airline and managed to fix our flights. That was far beyond what a host needs to do, but it seemed completely natural to her. We loved our stay at Cantinho do Paraiso.

We only had three days in the casita and wished we'd booked twice as long. The views are unlike anywhere else, with green and blue stretching for miles, and the grounds and interiors are so thoughtfully designed. There are even two sweet donkeys on the property, a lovely touch for kids and anyone who loves animals. Susana and Nestor made the stay with their warmth and hospitality. They shared so much knowledge, advice, and love for their island, and were generous with their time. This beautiful, peaceful place stays with you. We'll always remember them and hope to return as soon as we can.

A quiet sunset over the Atlantic, relaxing in the house, became one of the highlights of our honeymoon. Nestor and Susana were the most welcoming hosts we've ever had, and the beautiful home sits on a large private stretch of land in a magical setting. There are great walks right from the house, and it has everything you need to cook at home. If you're after somewhere secluded to reconnect with nature, this is a lovely spot. We can't wait to come back!
