CK Seaside Guest House

The views here are out of this world, and Eleni was such a great host. We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous place. I’d definitely recommend it.

The venue itself is beautiful and works well for events, and we were glad we could still hold our wedding there. We had no direct problems with the host, but the service and communication overall left us feeling uneasy. Couples should ask plenty of questions about the guest room before booking. During the site tour, we were shown a guest room and told it could be used by the bridal party to get ready, freshen up after the ceremony, and give the flower girls a place to nap or change if needed. We also understood that we would spend our wedding night there. In the end, we were never given access. Our bags, including the bride’s things and the flower girls’ belongings, had to stay in the dining room during the reception. It wasn’t the look we wanted for our guests to see or trip over, and we didn’t want it in our photos either. We didn’t get more information about the room, and when our planner was asked about it beforehand, the subject was avoided. We had hoped to use it for the young flower girls’ breaks, for the bride to change her dress or shoes, and to keep our things out of sight, but none of that happened. We were also told we could stay inside afterward if the music was turned down, but then were hurried out at the end. We left without an issue. Some of the wedding party went to the White Ocean Party anyway, but it still felt wrong to be pushed out after we’d been given the impression we could use the place overnight as we wished. When we returned the next day to collect the remaining wedding decorations, we were told someone was staying in the guest house, possibly the owner’s daughter, and that she would open the gate. That was a little confusing. I’d have to check my messages with the coordinator to recall the name she gave us, and the person who actually opened the door was the cleaning person, not that person. We’d originally booked a Saturday in 2020, but were told we had to move to a Friday and Sunday. When we rescheduled after the pandemic, we had to push hard and pay extra to get our Saturday back. We learn from these experiences, and we still want to encourage future couples to consider this lovely place, as long as they get clear answers about how the guest room works first.

Already missing this place. The pictures really don’t show it properly, and the cake deserves all the hype. It made a great base for exploring Sao Miguel. We’ll be back to see more of the Azores, and will plan on staying here for at least a few days again.

At 374 CK Seaside we had a fabulous stay. Eleni and her husband were wonderful hosts, and the guest house had everything we needed. The location is spectacular, with a view from the pool, and Eleni’s homemade Greek Soufflé was a treat. We highly recommend staying here.
