Aldeia Mourisca

Sofia, thank you for making us feel so welcome. She’s an extraordinary person, and everything runs so smoothly with her there. Fresh bread every day and delicious cakes are a lovely part of the stay. It’s a peaceful place where guests feel cared for and at ease. And let’s not forget the good neighbours.

The pool is sheltered from the wind, and the beach is close by. That’s about all I can praise. There was no parking, and nobody cleaned during our stay. The house feels very old, like something from the 1980s, with no renovations and everything in poor condition. The beds were extremely hard, and there are no shutters or blackout curtains, so morning light floods in. One of the windows was faulty, and a gecko got into our room through it even though it was closed. The pool umbrellas had wasp nests, and I got stung all over. Some chairs were broken, and the stove burners didn’t work properly. This list could go on.

It’s easy to get around on foot from this quiet, family-friendly complex: the beach, cafes, restaurants, and supermarket are all nearby. Even in the middle of August, it stays very peaceful. The apartments are simple, practical, and clean. The complex has been here for many years, though it’s been getting gradual improvements. I only wish the gates were kept closed like they used to be, which would give the place more privacy. Carolina was very kind and helpful. Thank you.

I can’t recommend Aldeia Mourisca. On a very windy night, a tree branch fell on my car inside the property and caused €2,700 in repairs. The owner asked me not to call the authorities and accepted responsibility. By the time I added the stay and garage bill together, the holiday cost so much I could have gone to Mexico, for example. NOT RECOMMENDED.
