The pool is small and charming, and the location worked well for us. Our room was nice too. The young woman who welcomed us also served breakfast, and she was lovely and really helpful. We'd happily come back.

We booked one room and were given something completely different, so we felt misled. One guest's line about watching their money fly away sums up how it felt. I've traveled a lot, and this was one of my worst stays. There was no reception or staff on site, so we felt entirely on our own, even in an emergency. The room was dirty and stuffy, with no air conditioning and no working fan. The furniture was old, broken, and dusty, and the sheets looked unclean. The shared bathroom hadn't been mentioned when we booked. It smelled strongly of chlorine, had no toilet paper, and towels and a fridge had to be shared with other guests. The noise made sleep impossible: metro, traffic outside the window, construction, loud guests, and garbage trucks smashing glass bottles through the night. The walls were so thin we could hear everything in neighboring rooms. I've stayed in hostels, and this was worse than a bad one. It didn't feel clean or safe, and I wouldn't call it child-friendly. It wasn't worth the money or time. I wouldn't stay again, even for free. Stay away.

The shared bathroom was often occupied and wasn't very clean. There were no basics like toilet paper, soap, or towels, and sharing it with strangers hadn't been clearly explained when we booked. The room was hot and stuffy, with no air conditioning. The fan they left was dusty and broken. Noise was constant because there was no sound insulation. I could hear conversations, doors, footsteps, even people turning over in bed. I felt uneasy moving around my own room, worried someone would hear me or disturb me. There was no privacy, peace, or real service. I don't understand how this guesthouse is listed on booking platforms. It's not worth the cost. Pay a little more somewhere else if you want to sleep, shower, and breathe comfortably.

The staff were friendly, and it's a good spot if you want to be near the city. The tram can make it a bit noisy at night, and the place isn't really soundproof.

Right in the city center, this is a lovely place run by a really special family. It's super clean and tidy. If you're visiting Porto or Gaia, Silva's guest house is a smart pick.
