Catarina’s warmth and hospitality made this guest house stand out during our Fisherman’s Trail walk. We stayed for one night, and she went well beyond simply providing a room. She suggested and arranged a delicious dinner, booked our ferry for the next morning, and recommended places to eat farther along the trail. Breakfast is available upon request, and it was wonderful. The house is in a quiet residential area with easy access to everything we needed. The first floor is the family home, while the second floor has four guest bedrooms that felt private and separate. I’ve never stayed in cleaner rooms. The beds and sheets were comfortable and high quality. Catarina is an energetic, enthusiastic host, and I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for such thoughtful hospitality!

Catarina welcomed us with real passion, and at check-in she shared lots of useful suggestions, including for villages farther along our Fishermen’s Trail hike. The interior is lovely, and the rooms are quiet and super clean. Our kingsize bed was very comfortable. She can also prepare breakfast if you ask. I’d recommend this place completely.

After a 13 mile hike, much of it in driving rain, I felt very welcome. The house and room were extremely clean, and the host suggested an excellent dinner option that worked with my special dietary needs. She was also the only host during my stay in Portugal who offered to help with my luggage. I carried it myself, but appreciated the polite offer. She arranged and took payment for the ferry I needed the next morning. The room was small, though that’s typical in these small Portuguese towns.

Catarina, the owner, made my three days of Fisherman Trail trekking unforgettable. She was a wonderful host and concierge, planning all three days for me and booking restaurants in Vila Nova. I tried three different places, and each turned out to be a great experience. The room was lovely, the bed very comfortable, and the house is in a quiet part of this charming little town. Don’t miss the tasty breakfast Caterina offers, which needs to be booked separately. I’ll definitely be back!
