Herdade Ribeira de Borba

We spent one night in a new glamping dome and loved the peace and quiet, even in the shared areas. Inside, the suite was beautifully furnished, with its own bathroom and shower, a TV, and powerful air-conditioning that kept it comfortable despite the ~40°C heat outside. The private wooden deck had sunbeds and looked out over the hills and a small river stream. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the morning. If you’re after somewhere to unwind, this is definitely the place. We’ll be back.

We only had one night here and wished we could have stayed longer. It felt like being looked after by family: Paula is a wonderful host, and the whole staff are so kind. There was calm, nature, and delicious local food. Wholeheartedly recommended.

The house we stayed in was comfortable and well equipped, and the place itself was very quiet and relaxing. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant food was very good. Chef João kindly adapted his renowned Cação soup recipe for my wife, who can’t tolerate some of the ingredients. Thanks again, chef João. The first breakfast was one of the less positive parts: the bread and croissant weren’t fresh, and there were quite small quantities of cheese, ham, and the other items. The swimming pool water also wasn’t clean. We had a good stay overall, but there’s room for some improvements.

We had such a lovely time at this beautiful, super clean property near Vila Viçosa, spending three amazing days there. The hospitality was wonderful: everyone was kind, attentive, and helpful, and made us feel at home rather than like just two more guests. We had dinner there one night, and the food was truly amazing. Because I’m pregnant and have special dietary requirements, they rearranged part of the meal so I could enjoy it too, even though I hadn’t asked. Those little details make all the difference. We’ll probably return, and I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends.
