Tivoli Marina Vilamoura

This was my second visit, and the hotel was still immaculate, with the same helpful staff, top-notch breakfast and great service. The location is perfect, with everything close by, and the pool area was spotless with excellent service. Last time I was on the fifth floor, but my fear of heights and the glass balcony led me to request a lower one. I got the first floor: a bigger balcony, but no sun, and I had to go to the front for a view. At least I know what to ask for next time. If I'm being picky, I had to request a bath mat or towel for the shower floor three times, though they were promptly sent up, and we didn't always get turndown service. We'll definitely be back.

The food was another highlight. We had some meals at Pepper’s, and it was absolutely delicious. Breakfast had plenty of choice each morning, including fresh omelettes made by a chef, and the breakfast staff were always wonderful. At Tivoli Vilamoura Marina, the staff were warm, friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. They were especially good with our children and went above and beyond at meal times to keep them happy and make sure they had what they needed. The cleaning team was excellent too: our room was spotless every day, and the hotel was beautifully maintained. The pool was a little cold in February, but that didn't stop the children enjoying it, and the area was lovely and well kept. A fantastic hotel with staff who really make the stay. We'd highly recommend it and look forward to returning.

The gardens and pool area looked lovely, and the lobby felt grand and was very clean. The rooms were the big letdown. We moved rooms, but they were very tired. The toilet smelled of urine even though it was cleaned every day, and we had to leave the balcony door ajar day and night to reduce the smell. The walls had patches of paint covering scuffs and stains, the furniture looked worn, some cupboards were broken, and some lights didn't work properly. The mattress was very hard and the pillows too soft, though reception could provide a firmer pillow. Breakfast was okay, but the selection stayed the same all week and became boring. I believe the scrambled eggs were made from powder, and they didn't taste good. The location is fine if you want to stay near the hotel and Marina, but expect a walk if you want to go further. We were there in January 2026, and the weather wasn't too bad. In winter, it would have been nice to sit out on the balcony, and on a rainy day like today, a comfortable, cozy room would have made a difference. Instead, by our last full day, we couldn't wait to leave. The bedrooms didn't live up to the high standards shown in the website photos.

We've come back a few times now, and the service and atmosphere have stayed consistent. The hotel is one of the best I've stayed at, full stop. The breakfast is great, Peppers steakhouse is always reliable, and Argo is a lovely bar for a relaxing drink inside or on the Terrace, with the best Marina views. Service, food and drinks are at a very good standard. Worth staying any time of year.
