I loved the room: spacious, comfortable, and with a balcony. Whenever we asked for an amenity, it arrived within 2-3 minutes, which really impressed me. The service was excellent. The building has so much charm and history, from its preserved architecture to the elegant decor. The staff were warm, professional, and friendly, especially Ana and Sandro at the front desk, Lucia at breakfast, and Noemia from SPA, who works incredibly hard and with dedication. We loved our stay.

We had a very enjoyable one-night stay. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and our room for three was exceptionally clean and very spacious. The pillows weren't very comfortable, but that's common at many hotels. The historic building is beautiful, with a cozy atmosphere and a character of its own. It's right in the center, about a 10-minute walk from the old town, and private parking is a real convenience. As Pestana Group members, we got a 15% discount when booking, which was a nice bonus. Breakfast didn't have much variety, but it was fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel. For two, the four dishes cost €39, while the booking website listed the dinner option at €80, so it's worth asking the hotel directly. We'd happily come back.

It's a great hotel in a lovely city and location, and the staff were fantastic. Breakfast was awful, though. The scrambled eggs and bacon had no taste, and the sausage was chopped into tiny thumbnail-sized bits and tasted only of salt. When we asked for fried eggs, we got a rude reply: that's it. The only good part was the Portuguese Nata.

It's a good hotel in a spacious renovated building, but some staff let things slide. At the spa, they weren't controlling who got the robes and shoes at the time. Breakfast service was poorly managed, too. On the morning of 26 December, people were disturbing others and even standing in the middle of the area and between tables, but nobody did anything. The waiter was a woman and very incompetent in this regard. On important Christmas days, it felt like there was no manager overseeing service and what was going on.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a good location and has nice food. The staff were very helpful, especially Catarina at reception. She explained everything and gave us good tips for trips.
