For a two-month work trip, being a little away from the busy center was a plus, and the staff made the stay easy. Sir Leo, Sir Elmer, Sir Josh, Ms. Sylvia, Ms. Jed, and the rest of the family were friendly and quick to help with Palau questions, airport arrangements, daily needs, and any maintenance problems. Sir Leo even invited us to his birthday party. We used the outdoor area between houses 5 and 6 to clean and dry our field gear. The houses seem to share a similar layout, though the kitchen felt cramped for four people staying long term. It was usable, just small. One thing to know if booking a single room: the rooms aren't equal. Room 3, like room 603 in house 6, is smaller and has no extra sitting area or couch. Rooms 1 and 2 have both. We booked an entire house, so I don't know whether room prices differ. Apart from those quirks, it worked out very well for our extended stay.

It was adequate for us, though the place has a quirky, cluttered feel. Breakfast was just eggs, and the air conditioner had a habit of switching off for ages, like it needed a nap. The appliances also had no instructions in English.

Josh deserves a special thank you for helping us communicate with local travel agencies and restaurants. His help got us through various difficulties during the trip and made our independent tour of Palau a really good experience. Everyone on staff was friendly and keen to help us.

The property has lovely views, though it isn't on the beach, and the simple breakfast was tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-built the rooms were, and the shared areas were much better than I expected. The staff were friendly and communicated well. Getting around meant renting a car. That could've been tough if I were travelling alone, but my companion drives regularly. For a couple of nights in Koror, this worked really well.

The view from the parking area is stunning, and service was top-notch. Hotel Shell Villa also has stylish, cozy rooms and delicious breakfasts. A lovely find in Palau, with a real sense of luxury. Highly recommended!
