West Plaza Hotel Desekel

The staff were great, and the location is handy, with a corner store downstairs and downtown Koror a short walk away. I was on vacation and didn't spend much time in the hotel, so the conditions didn't bother me too much. But if you're planning to spend more time there than sleeping and unwinding, I'd look elsewhere. Other hotels cost only a little more and are better options in a good location. A lot depends on which room you get. My first was okay, but the second smelled of mold. Its air-conditioner dripped, the staff tried but couldn't fix it, and it barely seemed to blow cold air. The fan ran fine for a few minutes, then made a loud constant clicking noise, like it was hitting something, loud enough to wake me up. TV choices were extremely limited, just three news channels as I recall, and internet was only available in the lobby.

The market downstairs sells drinking water, but WiFi isn't free. If you're after a grand entrance or a great view, this isn't the place. For the price, though, it's well worth it if a clean room, friendly service, and a hot shower are what you need.

Good enough for a short stop, with cafes, small markets, and restaurants nearby. I stayed one night before heading out on a liveaboard trip. It's a simple hotel in Palau, and the website description is fair.
