Esplendor by Wyndham Asunción

My dog was treated like family, which made the stay comfortable for both of us. The receptionist was especially friendly, accommodating, and fluent in English. I’m sorry I can’t remember her name. One of the best pet-friendly hotels I’ve stayed at, highly recommend it.

The staff really made this stay: the doormen were cheerful, the desk team arranged a tour for me at an hour’s notice, and they helped when I couldn’t open the safe or get online. Even the support staff smiled and said hello. The room was spacious and well equipped, and the hotel felt clean and modern. Breakfast was a treat, with lots to choose from and especially lovely pastries. Top marks to everyone.

The breakfast was good, though a few items seemed to be served again the next day and tasted less fresh. We also found stained curtains and black mould in the bathroom, which isn’t what you’d expect from a four-star hotel. Still, we had an excellent, relaxing stay and would definitely come back. The room was spacious and had a mini fridge, air conditioning, a smart TV, a rain shower, a bathtub, and a bidet. The view from the 12th floor was incredible. Staff were polite, kind, and helpful, too. There’s a pool on the 15th floor, along with a sauna, mini gym, and wellness centre. The wellness centre costs extra, but we can really recommend getting a massage there.

There was little noise from the main street, and the room seemed well soundproofed from the room next door. Inside, though, the furniture is old and the closet won’t stay closed unless you block it with bags. The floor seams are raised, and the bathroom sink splashes water onto your clothes when you use it because it isn’t bowl-shaped. Unlike nearby hotels, there’s no smart TV.
