A violent nightmare dressed up as a hotel. It felt chaotic, unsafe, and completely disrespectful to guests. Avoid it at all costs. There was no real security: the keys were almost identical, and I could open room 61 with the key for room 60. Anyone could get into other rooms. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, working poorly or not at all depending on the room. The plumbing was old and faulty, the water was impossible to adjust properly, and taps came off because the threads were damaged. The owner regularly hosted groups of sports fans and teams, turning the hotel into a nightclub, with screaming, insults, and heavy drinking going on for 12 hours straight. The owner seemed complicit. There was no refund unless you left before midnight, which meant getting out of bed, packing, and finding another hotel in the middle of the night. There was no intervention, ethics, or respect for guests. Staying here means risking your safety, losing sleep, and being treated like cattle. I experienced this twice. This is the rule, not the exception.

The AC worked well, and the location and price were decent. But the hotel is in rough shape. The courtyard has trees and a pool, though the pool was too dirty to use, and the building seemed poorly maintained, with dirty walls, junk lying around, and lots of things broken or needing repair. The rooms are sparse, which was okay, but bugs got in, there was barely any natural light, and the mattress was rock hard. Breakfast was terrible.

I've stayed here twice. It's handy to be able to walk to shops and sights, and they serve all three meals, which is a real plus. The food is good, and many of the rooms have lovely window views, though some doors can be tricky to open. A good spot to stay.

It's a budget hotel under the same management as the popular Portal del Sol, though that one is much farther out. Plaza Uruguaya is just around the corner. The hotel faces a pretty grimy stretch of Avenida España.
