Anya at reception and the room service staff were friendly and helpful, easily worth five stars. I took two off because the manager was a bit rude and unhelpful to stranded travelers. The room was clean and spacious, though quite old, and there's a supermarket and bank nearby.

The location is great, near the main tourist sites and places to eat, and the friendly staff were helpful. The room was huge, though tired and a little stale. We could hear the traffic and the lifts pinging constantly. Good value, and the rooftop pool and gym were nice bonuses.

After a long international flight, I arrived exhausted and hoped check-in would be straightforward. Instead, this was a terrible experience from the start. The hotel lists check-in at 15:00 rather than the standard 14:00, which is already inconvenient after hours of travel. I asked politely several times whether an early check-in, even by a couple of hours, might be possible. Reception staff ignored me while talking on their personal phones, barely acknowledging me even as I stood right in front of them. When I asked again about room availability, the receptionist became irritated and dismissive, saying, “As you can see we are very busy, I can’t assist you.” None of the staff had name tags, so I couldn't identify who we'd spoken to. The receptionist also chewed gum while talking to guests and had an untrimmed beard and noticeable hygiene and presentation issues. I work as a Guest Relations Supervisor at a prestigious 5-star hotel in a popular tourist destination, and I know what genuine hospitality means. This place fell far short of even basic service standards. The parking was extremely tight, with sharp corners. It took us almost 10 minutes to slowly go down one floor without scratching the car. The rooms and service were terrible, and I felt no care, professionalism, or comfort. With the Arab Cup happening, it seemed to me that many guests were just dropping off their bags before matches, and staff didn't seem to care much about service or guest satisfaction. If I'd had another choice, I wouldn't have picked this hotel. Read the reviews carefully before booking, and save your money.

The rooms were the letdown for me: a little shabby and due for refurbishment, and the air conditioning swung between too hot and too cold, making it hard to get comfortable. Still, the reception team were welcoming, smiley, and very helpful, while the valet and concierge were fantastic. Breakfast offered a wide selection that should suit most tastes, and we had a lovely swim in the warm water of the cozy rooftop pool. We booked late and wanted to be central in Doha, near the tourist spots. The location delivered, with a short walk to Souq Waguf, the old marina, and the corniche. The price wasn't too bad despite all the events going on. It's a nice family option, with amazing, caring staff and plenty nearby, though the rooms bring it down.
