Floralys Hotel

The room was lovely, and we were well placed for the beach and nearby restaurants.

We had an enjoyable time at Le Floralys, which hosted the international teams taking part in the Runball tournaments. For a 3-star place, it was a great venue and the accommodation was good. The pool was beautiful, and there was a small entertainment area with table tennis and foosball. The hotel is in a nice spot, within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, a market, a pharmacy, and a mini-mart. Birds and cats were often around. At night, mosquitoes were ready to bite, and tiny ants got into any small fruit or food left outside. Wi-Fi worked well if you were in the right place. There were two connections, and which one worked depended on your location among the villas. Standard rooms were cleaned daily, but the cabins weren’t, which wasn’t great.

The staff member in the restaurant was very kind, but the rest of the service fell below a normal standard. At the bar, the chairs had an incredible number of ants on them, so we didn’t want to sit there. Coconuts falling from the palms while walking along the resort’s streets also felt dangerous. Reception was poor and unhelpful. I spent a week asking for a laundry bag and was told to buy ordinary bags myself. Breakfast was very poor too, 15 euros for coffee and a piece of bread with bacon. On our last day, the receptionist refused a late check-in and couldn’t print two different invoices. Stay far from there!

A relaxed setting among the coconut palms, with a great pool. Close to Etang’s beaches, and there’s a minimarket right outside the front door.
