Hotel Crisana

The breakfast was solid as heck. Those sunny-side-up eggs were perfect, the best I've ever had. I wish I'd asked how they make them. Reception was great, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else if I come back. We visited on a weekend, and the church next door added to the atmosphere with its morning psalms. My only gripes were a tiny bit of dried blood on the sheets and that we couldn't work out how to lock the bathroom.

There was plenty of nice food at breakfast, which we felt bad about because we didn't have time to eat any. The place offers a lot for its price. The woman at reception was kind and spoke very nicely on the phone, even when we called at 02:00. She explained the pros and cons of the rooms so we could choose what we wanted.

The courtyard had such an overpowering urine smell that opening the window in our room was impossible. If rooms are meant to be cleaned after every guest, why was there a broken toilet seat left in the bathroom? Management seemed focused on filling rooms rather than guest comfort. I stayed as part of a group, but wouldn't recommend this hotel to groups or individual travelers.

The attic windows don't open, so there's no way to get fresh air in there, and breakfast could be better. On the plus side, the hotel was clean, the rooms were warm, and the beds comfortable. The location was good, and the staff friendly and polite. The menu wasn't very varied or sophisticated, though the prices were reasonable.
