Hotel Suite-Agrovillage Resort

The administrator was lovely and worked incredibly hard: she served our food, cleaned and looked after the bar. The swimming pool was the other good part. The rest of our stay was awful. The drive in is on an unpaved road. The setting itself wasn’t special, with hills, neglected grounds and wasps everywhere. The pool was decent, though the furniture around it was worn and torn. If you reach the chalet after dark, getting up the hill is completely black, and you’re left hoping you don’t get bitten or fall and break a leg. Our chalet was dusty and full of bugs. The linens were worn and stained, and the old wooden furniture needs refurbishing, or could be turned into firewood. In the bathroom we were afraid to touch anything while showering or using the toilet. The food was honestly awful. Even simple dishes were inedible: the potatoes and pork schnitzel were raw, the dumplings in the chicken soup were rock hard, and the bruschette were just old bread with hummus or guacamole, no olive oil or anything else. Desserts came from the frozen food aisle and were unevenly baked, some underdone and some burnt. There aren’t shops or other options nearby, so you either go hungry or leave. The prices are ridiculous for what they offer. I don’t know how this place is still open.

It’s a gorgeous place, with wonderful staff and great facilities, including a pool. The peaceful forest setting makes it a lovely spot to unwind by yourself or with the whole family. The dirt road is the one drawback, but don’t let it put you off. The place is worth the drive.

There’s just one pool, and I didn’t find anything else that made the place stand out. The road there is pretty rough, and I personally won’t go back. The 10€ entrance charge doesn’t make much sense, especially for a drive of over 1h from Timisoara.
