The staff were very kind, and that’s the guesthouse’s one real plus. The rest was rough. It could use more attention to cleaning, and there’s nowhere in the bathroom to hang a towel without it falling down. Soundproofing is nonexistent, so you hear everything going on in the guesthouse. Doors and mattresses creak, which was horrible. I was in a first-floor room, and its door was about 80% glass, so there was no real privacy. The hallway light also stays on all night. I don’t get how this place has 4.7 stars.

The courtyard has a gorgeous terrace with a barbecue and outdoor dining area, and you can use the handy kitchen, which has everything you need. Inside, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, well kept, and air conditioned, with a warm, welcoming feel. There’s also a lovely library upstairs that makes you want to read poetry and daydream. Dana guesthouse in Baia de Fier is a nice place to feel good, and our host was kind and lovely to talk with over a tasty meal.

Mrs. Dana’s guesthouse gets a 10 from me for cleanliness, hospitality, and helpfulness. It offers the best services in the area, in my view. I’d highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely come back with the Godfathers to unwind in the jacuzzi.
