They advertise a coffee maker in the room, but there wasn’t one. I went to the shared kitchen to boil water for coffee, and a creepy, rude woman working there wagged her finger at me and said no, then followed me back out. If staff are going to deal with guests, they need some customer service skills. The hotel itself is nice.

The place was clean, but the balconies had no dividers, so there was no privacy. One employee, apparently someone from management, was hostile throughout our stay toward adults and children who were making noise, even when customers were trying to ask questions. I felt miserable, and had to explain to my six-year-old son that grown-ups shouldn’t behave that way. There were too few parking spots for guests, and they were just on the street rather than reserved. There was no restaurant, and for the price I expected breakfast to be included. The bathrooms had no exterior windows or ventilators. If I had an enemy to punish, I’d send them to this hotel.

It was very quiet, and the owner was friendly. If you get a balcony, the view is great. Parking is tricky, though, with a small street and not many spots.

Really good pizza right in the historic part of Herculane.
