Pensiunea Viktoria

We went as a group of 40 and had almost the whole hotel to ourselves, with enough rooms for everyone. At 125 RON per person per night, it was great value. The rooms were clean, and breakfast and dinner were decent, if not the best. Each room had a TV and closet, and some also had a nightstand. We also received a voucher for the nearby Thermal Wellness place, a nice extra. There's very little within walking distance, so I'd suggest coming with a large group; on your own, there's not much to do in the area.

The food was decent, but the service was awful. We waited a long time, and two salads were added to the bill even though they never came. The table was still dirty from the previous customers. When we were ready to pay, the waitresses had disappeared; after waiting about 15 minutes, we had to find someone who could prepare the bill. Card payment was sometimes available, but not then.

We came across this restaurant on a Sunday evening when most places around here close by 6 or 8. It was still open at about 8:30 PM, and our food came quickly. The gulas soup, a local traditional dish, was tasty, as was the Victoria plate with assorted meat, potatoes, and cooked vegetables. Prices were very good. We'll come back.

We wanted a traditional lunch and were happy with it. The food was good, the prices were fair, and the service was good too. Inside looked nice, and the terrace was clean and cosy. Nothing fancy, just what we needed.
