The place is beautiful and the rooms are nice. Just keep in mind there’s no restaurant at the hotel, and if you’re traveling with a baby, bring a travel cot.

The view was the best part for relaxing, and there are some thoughtful outdoor features: a fishing spot, a well-placed gazebo, space for several people to grill at once, and secure parking inside the guesthouse. Those were the reasons I chose the place, along with the recommendations I’d heard. The problems, though, outweighed those positives. In the large guesthouse room, the TV didn’t work, and the air conditioner only made an unbearable racket without cooling the room. The shower stall was so cramped that I had to wash in the bathtub, then step into the stall to rinse off. A larger group, possibly relatives of the owners, seemed to set their own rules and disrupted the atmosphere. The drinks and food I’d put in the refrigerator provided by the facility manager, water, beer, whiskey, fruit, and cold cuts, disappeared. Management showed no concern and offered neither an explanation nor a solution. Other guests told me they’d also had food go missing, including meat for grilling. The location and places to relax give this guesthouse plenty of potential, but the organization, management, and respect for guests were disappointing. There were good parts, but the downsides won out for me.

The hosts were generous, the place was lovely and clean, and the food was really good. I recommend it.
