Pension Bran Ioana

The homemade food with local ingredients was a highlight, and the prices were what I expected. It was just the comfortable place I needed, close to Bran castle, the market, and the museum. The beds were comfy, and although the rooms aren’t very big, the views of the area are excellent.

The road up is unpaved, so you have to leave your car on the street, and it feels like you need a jeep to get there. The bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor. Our room wasn’t clean and the sheets looked used. We didn’t get a receipt, and the staff didn’t know anything. I wouldn’t come back.

We’d said in our reservation that we’d arrive after 22:00. When we reached the gate at 23:04, a big dog was let loose. The six of us tried calling the property from several phone numbers for almost 30 minutes, but nobody answered. Luckily, we found another villa nearby in the middle of the night. The service from our new host was amazing, and the place was incomparable much better. I recommend Villa Tanita (9.2 on Booking vs 6.9 at Ioana, now we understand why, lucky us). :)

There was room for our group of 71, and the accommodation was nice. Watch out on the stairs, though: one step is noticeably taller than the rest.
