1881 Brasov old town - double room

Affordable and in a great spot in Brasov old centre, with a stylish room. Still, having the toilet enclosed in glass right beside the kitchen felt very awkward. In my culture, going to the bathroom next to where you eat is strange, and seeing my friend's silhouette while they used it as I sat at the table was even weirder.

We had travelled a long way with our kids and were left outside in the freezing cold. I regret spending so much time wondering if someone kind might help us, or whether the apartment had already been booked for someone else. I could have understood if anyone had explained what was going on. We had booked two nights, March 28-30, through booking.com for 1881 Old Apartment, str Poarta schei 16, Braşov, 500020, Romania. I’d messaged on WhatsApp and SMS before arriving to say we were on our way and might be delayed, but got no reply. Once there, we knocked, rang the bell, asked people nearby for help, called the website contact number several times, and emailed. The calls wouldn’t connect and the email got no response. We even knocked on the windows, but nobody answered. I’m sharing this so it doesn’t happen to someone else, whatever the reason. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and absolutely don’t recommend this apartment, especially for families travelling with children. It was a very upsetting experience on our journey to Brasov.

It felt like home, with everything we needed and a cozy, tastefully decorated space. The place is only a few minutes' walk from the city centre. We had a wonderful stay and will come back when we're in Brasov again. Definitely recommend it.

Lovely-looking apartments in a traditional style. The stairs might be a little tricky with small children.
