I booked well ahead, then got a message just two days before arrival saying they’d “had an overlap” and couldn’t host me after all. Thankfully, booking will sort it out. In Romanian, țeapă is the word for this kind of situation, and the hotel name “Vlad Țepeș” feels especially fitting.

The view from the 5th floor is awesome, and the staff are so warm. Everything was impeccably clean. I liked the amenities, bed and linen too, and there were so many towels that for once I didn’t need to bring my own.

Awful service for business visitors. Maybe it works for travel, but I needed somewhere good for a business visit and wouldn’t recommend it. There was nobody at the counter, and the gates were locked so you couldn’t get in or out. The room felt “not fresh” either. Mine was dirty, with hand marks on the headboard from some obvious activity. Yuck.
