Armatti Hotel

The view was lovely, and the staff were wonderful. A very relaxing hotel, highly recommend it.

Breakfast was good and the service was very good. The rooms were nice and clean, though a few things were defective. I’d recommend this hotel.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the modern art in the public areas was well placed and actually good. The design is minimal and tasteful, though it doesn’t feel especially cozy or traditional. The room was spacious, and the whole place was clean. It’s very close to the main square in Brasov, so the location is handy. There were several frustrations. The hotel was expensive for what it offered, and I don’t understand charging extra for an open, semi-private parking space in the yard just past the road entrance. I also couldn’t see why there wasn’t a small fridge in the room, apart from the tiny, fully stocked minibar with prices far above the shops. I chose not to include breakfast, since it cost so much compared with the cafes and restaurants nearby. The strange noise went on all day and night, like air circulation mixed with running water. The bathroom fan and room air conditioning were off, but I eventually traced the wobbling sound to the ventilation pipes, and I think the water noise came from pipes connected to the hotel’s ventilation system. The window view felt like looking out from a prison because the outside blinds wouldn’t move. Some maintenance is needed, too. The shower barely ran because of what looked like limescale buildup, the mirror had moisture marks, and the carpet had odd stains.

The hotel is close to the historic centre, and the clean, roomy rooms have air-conditioning you can control. Remember to lock your door from inside, since it doesn’t lock automatically. Manager Robert was very helpful, arranging a taxi to the station and making sure I had water for the trip. I recommend it.
