Hotel New Belvedere Poiana Brasov

The gondola is literally next door, so the location is ideal. Our room was huge and cozy, the bed was comfortable, though a bit soft for my taste, and I slept well over our four nights. Breakfast was tasty with plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful with our requests.

The location is probably the closest hotel to the Gondola, which made getting to the slopes easy. After staying at a couple of other places in Poiana Brasov, I thought this was very good value for money for what it offers and how close it is to skiing. I booked a Standard double room but was given a large one with an internal staircase and ceiling window. The bathroom was spacious and very clean, and I liked the designer toiletries. Staff were kind and helpful whenever we asked; the gentleman in the restaurant was especially friendly, though I don’t know his name. There was always someone to open the parking gate for us, and I appreciated the complimentary water. I was a little surprised the coffee cost extra, but we were busy skiing and didn’t need it. Breakfast had a nice range of tasty, healthy options: dried fruit, seeds, cheeses, different meats, fruit, sweets, salads, fish dishes, and more. They didn’t put large quantities out on display, which I actually appreciated, and there was more than enough for everyone each morning. I also liked hearing music in the corridors. It might sound like a small thing, but after staying in places in different countries, I found it helped cover noise from other guests. I really enjoyed the stay and will definitely come back.

We stayed 62 minutes and used the parking service, which cost 15 ron per hour. They charged us for two hours.

The staff and management were very accommodating, and the food, rooms, facilities, and service were all perfect throughout my visit. It was an excellent experience overall, and I’d highly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a trip to Romania. I’ll definitely visit again soon.
