We travel a lot as a family with a young child, and this was the worst hotel experience we’ve had. We booked three nights and regretted it. Please find somewhere else to stay. The first night was unbearably hot in the room. The heater was off and the AC on, but it was still extremely hot. We told the young blonde man at the desk, who said he’d look into it. We were out all day and left a window open, but when we returned at midnight the room was still hot. We couldn’t sleep. Calls to reception went unanswered, so my husband went downstairs and found the night staff member Iwona asleep on the couch. She said there was nothing she could do and that it was hot downstairs too. It was probably 10 degrees cooler in the lobby than in our room. When I went down to explain again, Iwona had fallen asleep on the couch again. She got defensive, repeated that the lobby was hot and offered no solution. I asked to change rooms, but she said they were fully booked. When I asked for the manager’s name, she said she “can’t give that information.” Some sign of concern would have been nice. Our original reservation was also mishandled. They had booked the three-person suite for just one person and nearly wouldn’t let me check in with my husband, although the room was for up to three. They eventually let us all stay together, but charged us extra, not just the taxes. I used to work as a hotel receptionist, so I know how these situations should be handled. I’m surprised this place gets business at all.

The breakfast had a good variety, and the hotel was clean and quiet. Our room wasn’t new, but it was comfortable and had all the amenities.

Breakfast was the one bright spot. The room was dirty, the staff unfriendly, check-in and checkout were chaotic, and the extras were overpriced. We paid no attention to their €45 airport shuttle and booked a Bolt for £15 instead. It took under 40 minutes to get to the airport, even close to rush hour. Eat here if you must, but sleep somewhere else. From arrival onward, the reception staff seemed unwelcoming. Since the hotel hosts many foreign guests, I expected a warmer approach. We arrived three hours before check-in and politely asked if we could pay for an early room. The answer was simply “No, sorry,” with no effort to check or suggest another option. Then at 3 PM, our room still wasn’t ready, and we waited nearly 30 minutes in the lobby while they cleaned it. The receptionist said they “couldn’t find the cleaners.” When we finally got in, the toilet seat was dirty, there was mould around the bathtub, and dust was under the extra bed for our child, as our photos showed. The whole room felt unclean. Check-in was rushed too: we got just one key for two adults and a child, and nobody explained breakfast hours or hotel facilities. We had to ask everything ourselves. Checkout the next morning was just as frustrating. The receptionist wasn’t at the desk when we came down early, told us to come back in two minutes, then still wasn’t there when we returned. The first thing they asked was whether we’d taken anything from the minibar, not how the stay was or whether we slept well. That says a lot about how they treat guests.

We had a great time with L.A. travel, and this was my favorite hotel in Romania. We stayed from March 13-16 with our school group. It’s about 1.5 km from the center, opposite the biggest church in Romania, maybe even the world, and less than five minutes from the People's Palace. Our double room was clean and modern, with a view of the church. The bed and pillows were very soft. There was a TV where we watched Greek news on YouTube, plus plugs by the bedside and on the table, two glasses, a restaurant menu, and a safe in the wardrobe that we used. The armchair was across from the bed, but we left our things on it. At first we couldn’t figure out how to close the door, then worked it out. The bathroom had a bathtub, towels, a big mirror, toiletries and a hairdryer. There was also a paper in Romanian that I think was about cleanliness or safety. Breakfast was European style, and I drank the cherry brandy all the time.
